Musicalization for Educators 2

About the course

The course purpose is deepening knowledge and musical experiences by listening, creating and making sounds. Classes will be dynamical and practical with vocal technique, percussion, and corporal expression, glass percussion exercises, among others, aligning music and movement. The purpose is further developing participants’ rhythm, perception, vocal tuning, and musicality.

The course brings several ideas for practical musical activities to be used in the classroom, private classes or musical workshops, and further discussions about music and musical education concepts and approaches.



Objectives

General purpose: Developing and deepening the participants’ musicality to become more secure when working with music in the classroom, and also their overall musical perception.

Specific purposes: Promoting directed listening and musical appreciation activities, participating in rhythm exercises using their own body, learning how to use their voice as a means of sound and musical expression. On a broader and deepen way, improving their corporal perception and motor coordination by means of plays and musical games and activities with musical repertoire, discussing about musical concepts and musical education approaches.


Target audience

The course is intended for those who work or intend to work with music, either on classes, social projects, or workshops within other areas. It is also intended to those persons with musical knowledge and who are interested in dynamic and pedagogical musical activities, and also for those who have attended this course’s module I.


Requirement

It is necessary to have some previous knowledge or experience with music. The course is intended to educators, students, or interested in the area, music professionals and music educators who are willing to be in touch with the profession’s practical activities, and also for those who have attended this course’s Module I.
